HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The chair of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) board of directors has resigned.

Colleen Hanabusa is stepping down at the end of the month, citing personal reasons.

The announcement of her departure came during Friday’s HART board meeting. The board adopted a resolution honoring Hanabusa for her contributions to Skyline.

Hanabusa has served on HART’s board twice, and first chaired from May to October 2016.

Then Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi appointed her to the board in May 2021 , and she’s served as chair since July 2021.
