One person is dead after a motorcyclist crashed south of Peterborough on Friday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

The single-vehicle crash happened in the intersection of County Road 2 and Bensfort Road.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the OPP thanked bystanders who tried to help the person.

Police said at 5:30 p.m. they closed the intersection but by 10:16 p.m., they had reopened it.
