OWASSO — Sophomore Kam Compton-Nero accomplished a rare feat on Friday night.
The quarterback of top-ranked Rejoice Christian passed for a touchdown, ran for a score and returned an interception for another TD — all within the first seven minutes of the game. Compton-Nero’s pick-six was one of three for the Eagles as they rolled to a 76-7 win over Haskell in their District AI-4 opener inside Gibbs Field at Rejoice Stadium.
“This was a big game,” said Compton-Nero, who finished 7-of-11 passing for 191 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns in just one half of action. “It was the first district game. We had to come out and do what we do.”
OU commit and senior receiver Xavier ‘Zizi’ Okwufulueze was his main target with 138 receiving yards on four catches to go with two total TDs.
