BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Week 6 brings an interesting quirk for this week's high school football lineup.

Well, not so unusual if you remember the times before the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent referee shortages.

All of the games we're covering are taking place Friday. There were no Thursday games on 17 Scoreboard's scoreboard. Everything is happening Friday night.

And in Week 6, teams are starting to look ahead at league play. Some teams use the first part of the season to build themselves up so they can be ready for their league rivals and to hopefully earn a spot in the playoffs. You don't get a banner for going 4-0 or get eliminated for the season by going 0-4 in your non-league schedule.
