INDIANAPOLIS -- Alec Surber was conducting an interview on the field after his Decatur Central team won a hard-fought 37-19 Mid-State Conference game over Plainfield on Friday night when he heard a familiar voice.
“That boy’s ugly,” said the opposing player who was walking behind Surber.
Surber immediately grinned as he turned to see his cousin, Plainfield junior quarterback Bryce Sebanc, delivering the line. Surber, the 6-3, 275-pound lineman, had chased Sebanc around for much of the night. Then on Saturday, they will pile in the car together and take a game day visit to Austin Peay in Tennessee, where Surber is committed to play in college.
