GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Anthony Diaz, 26, of Gainesville, was arrested and charged Friday night with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim over a dispute with his girlfriend.

At approximately 10:34 p.m., the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from the victim’s sister alleging that the victim told Diaz they were breaking up, and he didn’t handle it well.

The report states that the victim said that while arguing over kitchen dishes, Diaz walked up to her and pushed her multiple times, one time into the counter.

According to the victim, Diaz took an aggressive stance towards her, stating he would be taking custody of his child, and she would be a ‘bad mother.’
