Friday served as the opening slate for District 5-6A play after all eight programs had the previous week off. The slimmest margin of victory featured a fourth-quarter comeback from Lewisville over Marcus, including one of the most electrifying finishes of the year.
Flower Mound had a rough outing against a vaunted Denton Guyer defense, falling 49-7, and the difference seemed to be made on the ground. Junior Wildcat quarterback Zephyr Kreye is lethal in the red zone on the run, picking up three touchdowns on just five carries for 14 yards. Sophomore quarterback Carter Morgan was the inverse, scoring just once but picking up 176 yards on 10 carries. The duo combined to go 11-of-17 passing for 110 yards and a touchdown.
