ST. LOUIS — One man was dead and another in critical condition after a shooting Saturday afternoon in north St. Louis.

Police responded to a call about 2:30 p.m. to the 5300 block of Ruskin Avenue, near the intersection with Thekla Avenue, in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.

Two men had been shot and were taken to a hospital, where one died. The other victim was in critical condition Saturday afternoon, police said.

Homicide detectives were investigating.
