KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in Kershaw County are investigating a fight between brothers that ended in gunfire on Friday.

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. and involved two brothers in a fight on Bob Hugh Road in the Jefferson area of the county. Authorities said one brother called 911 after reportedly shooting the other.

According to the incident report, arriving deputies found the armed brother standing in the front yard and detained him at gunpoint. The sheriff's office said he told deputies that his brother attacked him with a wooden board, and he shot him with his pistol. The brother who was armed with the gun said he didn't intend to kill the other and was defending himself.
