HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Planes were being powered by teams of four on Saturday. The teams pulled the five-ton machines across the tarmac with a rope for a competition and fundraiser for Untied Way of South Central Nebraska, TeamMates mentoring, Meals on Wheels and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

“United Way is currently funding more than 45 programs here in Adams, Clay, Knuckles and Webster counties,” said Jody Graves, event organizer and executive director of United Way South Central of Nebraska. “All of this money goes right back into the community.”

While fundraising is important, some teams still were there to compete. For the YW Women Warriors, it was about crossing the finish as the only all women’s team. The crowds support is what made them push just that extra mile.
