ABSECON, NJ – A severely neglected dog was discovered Friday afternoon near Highland Boulevard and Chelsea Avenue, prompting an animal cruelty investigation by local police who are now asking for the public’s help.

Dog found without ID

According to the Absecon Police Department, good Samaritans alerted officers around 1 p.m. after finding the canine in poor condition. The dog was not wearing a collar or identification tag and was not microchipped, leaving investigators with few leads on its origin or owner.
