MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Northside Farmers’ Market is closing out the season with a community challenge: Buy Out the Market.

The event, happening Sunday, invites shoppers to support local farmers and help stock the shelves of a local pantry by purchasing and donating fresh fruits and vegetables directly on-site.

“We’re really excited to be able to have this again,” said Helen Osborn-Senatus, director of operations at The River Food Pantry. “You know, big thanks to the Northside Farmers’ Market and Healthy Food for All of Dane County as helping gather this food for The River Food Pantry.”

The produce donated will go straight to The River, prepped Monday, and distributed to families beginning Tuesday.
