VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Starbucks in Vestavia Hills is officially closed.

The company announcing plans to close 1% of its stores nationwide. Around 900 people are losing their jobs after the coffee giant’s CEO announced they are closing nearly 200 stores.

Four locations in Alabama are closing, including the Starbucks on Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills.

Regulars told us employees were given a two-day notice before the store would close.

“I do feel for the people and their families getting cut off and not knowing where they’re going to be next week,” said Noah Cardenas, a Liberty Park resident.
