COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - The body of an Omaha man was pulled from the Missouri River on Friday.

Council Bluffs Police told First Alert 6 that they were called to the river across Freedom Park around 3:30 Friday afternoon.

CBPD said a boater found the body and rescue crews recovered it.

The body was identified as 40-year-old Steven Garland of Omaha.

The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office plans to do an autopsy.
