MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Trouble could be brewing in the leadership of an East Valley police department.
The Mesa Police Department confirmed to Arizona’s Family that Assistant Police Chief Ed Wessing is being investigated for misconduct.
The department says he has been reassigned to home.
A department spokesperson told Arizona’s Family that “an investigation has been initiated for Failure to Obey City of Mesa Management Policies and/or Personnel Rules or Official City Communications.”
It’s unclear what rules or policy violations are being investigated.
“The City of Mesa and the Mesa Police Department take all allegations of misconduct seriously and a thorough investigation is being conducted,” the spokesperson added.
