GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — Four kids are seriously injured after a crash Saturday night in the East Valley.

Gilbert Police responded to the one-vehicle crash around 10 p.m. near Williams Field and Gilbert roads .

An initial investigation found that the vehicle was headed westbound on Williams Field Road when it left the road and crashed into a tree, police said.

Four juveniles were taken to the hospital with critical injuries, according to Gilbert Police, and one other juvenile was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The ages of the kids involved were not given.

Police said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. An investigation remains ongoing.
