COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Tropical Storm Imelda forms this afternoon near the Bahamas where it continues to produce areas of showers ad thunderstorms.
The positive trend of a sharp, eastward turn of Imelda continues with the latest forecast track. While tropical showers and occasional gusty winds are possible in the Midlands Monday and Tuesday, it still looks likely that a direct landfall will be avoided.
Hurricane Humberto will likely help Imelda with this turn and guide it away from the Carolinas by Wednesday and Thursday of this week. This scenario is much better for the Midlands and South Carolina. Still though, tropical bands of heavy rain will lead to a chance of flooding, especially along the coast.
