FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Carolina Panthers were demolished on the road by the New England Patriots, failing to build on the momentum gained from last week's shutout win.

New England beat Carolina 42-13. The Panthers' only scores came on their first and final drives.

In between those scores, the Patriots had five scoring drives and a punt return touchdown. Charlotte native quarterback Drake Maye had a fantastic day for New England, finishing 14 of 17 for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Maye had a quarterback rating of 155.6, just a few points away from the perfect score of 158.3. He also ran in for a touchdown.

Panthers quarterback Bryce Young did not have a poor statistical day, but the team failed to convert drives into points. Young finished 18 of 30 for 150 yards and one touchdown.
