THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — There are so many different ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

One novel approach is to combine fabulous entertainment with much-needed healthcare information in a new social network. That’s exactly what happened at a community care fest, cosponsored by Hostos Community College and Somos.

The goal is to highlight Somos’s new social care network for Bronx medicaid families. The featured performer, Raul Acosta, felt it was important to be here.

“The community is coming together to have a good time but to also learn about agencies like Somos and all that they have to offer,” Acosta, the leader of his band called Oro Solido, told PIX11 News.
