AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF)- Some much needed resources distributed Saturday at the Hope After Helene event in Augusta.

Volunteers included staff from the Richmond County School System and members of the Greater Young Zion Baptist Church.

Bags of groceries were handed out at Glenn Hills Middle School, one of four school distribution sites.

Principal Marvin Washington said, last year the school provided hot meals for the community after the area was hit by the hurricane and when asked if they would help out again, they were more than happy to do so.

"We just came out, we came together, and everybody did what they had to do to make sure that our families had some food to eat. A lot of the volunteers that helped us last year came back out again this year. And all the all the churches that put this
