October this year is set to be one of the busiest festive months of the year with major celebrations like Durga Puja , Dussehra , Diwali and Chhath Puja lined up. With so many festivities across the country, banks will remain closed on several days this month. Bank branches this month will remain shut for several occasions like Ayodha Puja, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti/Kumar Purnima, Karva Chauth, Kati Bihu, Diwali, Naraka Chaturdashi, Govardhan Puja, Balipadyami, Bhai Dooj, Chhath Puja and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. As per the RBI holiday calendar, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks in India also observe a fixed closure on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
