A 19-year-old is hospitalized with serious injuries after her car crashed into a tree off Interstate 91 in Guilford, Vermont, on Saturday afternoon.

Vermont State Police say troopers responded to I-91 northbound near mile marker 1.6 and found a totaled Toyota Camry that had gone off the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

The driver, identified as Sierra Cotton, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said. There was no immediate update on her condition.

It's unclear what caused the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
