Two juveniles are in custody and one remains at large after a car theft led to a chase in northeastern Baltimore County, resulting in damaged cars and an injured officer.

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a typically quiet night on Overton Avenue in Overlea was disrupted.

“It was quite scary, and now, you live in the county and you think you’re safe, but you’re not,” Robin Lacher, a resident, told 11 News.

Residents reported hearing noises and witnessing police cars and suspects running through the area.

“(I) hear a noise, and then, next thing you know, I see all the police cars out here and boys running up through the woods, down the streets, and the police officers are chasing them with the dogs,” said a resident who asked to remain anonymous.
