NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Eric Adams will be a one-term mayor for New York City.

Stuck in fourth place… left him no way forward to stay in Gracie Mansion. Sitting on the staircase next to a portrait of his mother, Adams blamed the media and the city's Campaign Finance Board withholding public funding as causes for his dropping out of the mayor’s race.

"The constant media speculation about my future and the campaign finance board's decision to withhold millions of dollars undermined my ability to raise the funds needed for a serious campaign," he said in a video statement Sunday.
