NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – Multiple NJ Transit lines are running on special schedules Monday morning after a non-passenger work train derailed near Summit Station.
The Morristown and Montclair-Boonton lines will have adjusted schedules indefinitely, NJ Transit officials said on Monday. To see the new schedules, click here.
Passengers should also expect delays on the Morris and Essex Line and Gladstone Branch in both directions. The Morris and Essex Line and the Gladstone Branch were completely suspended over the weekend.
“Due to operating on a single track between Millburn and Summit, passengers should allow additional travel time on all trains,” officials said.
The derailment happened on Friday just before midnight, when the last two cars of the work train derailed because of damaged track
