BROOKVILLE, Indiana — A 17-year-old is dead after a car crash in Franklin County early Sunday morning.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department said deputies and emergency personnel from the Blooming Grove Fire Department were dispatched to the 14000 block of State Road 1 , near Blooming Grove, around 4:30 a.m. Sept. 28.

When authorities arrived on scene, they said the driver, identified as Ethan Heath, 17, of Laurel, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Health's car was heading northbound when, for unknown reasons, it left the east side of the road.

Police said the car crashed into a culvert and driveway, went airborne and rolled several times before stopping.
