Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Anantnag achieved a major success by arresting a drug peddler and recovered a huge consignment of narcotic substance from his possession.

A Spokesperson said that Police Station Bijbehara received credible information from reliable sources regarding the illegal possession of narcotic substances by one individual, namely Riyaz Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Khaliq Mir, resident of Katriteng, Bijbehara. Acting swiftly on this information, a case FIR No. 182/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bijbehara, and investigation was taken up.
