Fans have been left "gutted" after Peter Kay cancelled two shows following a surgical procedure.
The Bolton-born comedian shared the news on his social media accounts, prompting an outpouring of well wishes from followers, as well as disappointment from those who said they had been "waiting years" to see him perform.
The 52-year-old is one of Britain's most popular comics, best known for his stand-up tours, hit sitcoms Car Share and Phoenix Nights , and his partnership with Paddy McGuinness in Max and Paddy .
