A woman has died after he Smart car was involved in a two-vehicle cash. The incident happened near Delamere, Cheshire.

Shortly before 8.52pm on 25 September the black Smart fortwo Grandstyle was travelling along the A556 from Chester towards Northwich when it was in collision with a blue Toyota Yaris travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Smart car, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to hospital but sadly died. The family are being supported by specialist officers

The accident was on Chester Road, A556, near the junction with Stoney Lane. One of the two vehicles had left the road, and firefighters cut off the roof to rescue a casualty trapped inside.
