CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake police said they are investigating an accident that sent one person to the hospital on Monday morning and involved a Dominion Energy truck.

Police said they were called to the intersection of Centerville Turnpike and Elbow Road at about 8:17 a.m.

According to police, a vehicle traveling northbound turned left at the intersection in front of a Dominion Energy truck traveling southbound, and the two collided.

The driver who was traveling northbound was taken to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

Police said as of now, they believe the northbound driver failed to yield the right of way to the truck, and that the truck appears not to be at fault.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the crash.
