Authorities in Vermont are searching for a man and a woman who they say are “considered armed and dangerous” and were allegedly involved in a road rage incident where gunshots were fired last week, officials said Thursday.

Vermont State Police said New England-wide and New York arrest warrants have been issued for Justin French, 36, and Kayla Cabey, 33, charging them each with first degree attempted murder , reckless endangerment, and criminal threatening.

The alleged road rage incident and shooting occurred Sept. 20 just after 5:10 p.m. on Route 302 in South Ryegate, Vt., State Police said in a statement .

Investigators believe the shooting was not random and the people involved knew each other, State Police said.
