MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One man has been charged with first-degree murder after eight months of investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Madisonville Police Department.
On January 30, 2025, just before 7 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff's officers were dispatched to a home on Highway 72 East for a report of a person with a gunshot wound. Deputies found Dennis Jenkins, Jr., 29, on the floor of the residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head. He was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center via LifeStar, where he was pronounced dead.
