Gas prices in Michigan fell Monday to nearly $3 a gallon.

Michigan drivers were paying an average of $3.03 a gallon, down 14 cents from a week ago, with the lowest average prices by community — $2.89 a gallon — in Jackson and Traverse City.

Adrienne Woodland of AAA said drivers are seeing lower prices.

Gasoline demand increased from 8.81 million barrels a day to 8.95 million, according to the Energy Information Administration. But the total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 217.6 million barrels to 216.6 million.

West Texas Intermediate, a grade of oil, was trading in the mid-$60s a barrel.

After Jackson and Traverse City, the next lowest average gasoline price was in Lansing, at $2.91 a gallon, and the most expensive gas prices were in Ann Arbor, $3.14 a gallon, metro Detroit,
