(WJBF) - It's an important day of celebration at Television Park!!!

The NewsChannel 6 family surprised photojournalist, Dania Alawir, Monday morning in the newsroom.

This past weekend, Dania became a United States citizen. She took the oath Saturday in Atlanta.

It took many years of hard work. Dania, originally from Syria, is an amazing, talented woman who is dedicated to her job.

We are honored to have her as our fellow American, our colleague and our friend.

Dania, welcome to the USA!!!!!
