HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Former First Lady of Aggieland, Miss Reveille IX, died on Saturday, Texas A&M University Commandant, Corps of Cadets announced on social media.

Reveille, an American Rough Collie, died in the early hours of Sept. 27 due to complications from pneumonia.

She was the official mascot of Texas A&M from May 2015 until her retirement in April 2021.

"We are thankful for the diligent and exemplary care that was provided to her by the staff of the Stevenson Companion Animal Life-Care Center and the Texas A&M Small Animal Teaching Hospital," University officials said in the social media statement. "As her predecessors have since 1931, Miss Reveille IX served as an unrelenting living symbol of the Aggie spirit, both on campus and into her retirement."
