COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M University says the previous First Lady of Aggieland and mascot, Reveille IX, has died.

The university says Reveille IX died early Saturday from complications from pneumonia.

“Miss Reveille IX dutifully served our university as the official mascot of Texas A&M from May of 2015 until her retirement in April of 2021. As her predecessors have since 1931, Miss Reveille IX served as an unrelenting living symbol of the Aggie spirit, both on campus and into her retirement,” the university said. “Her passing is an immense loss for Texas A&M, the Corps of Cadets, Company E-2, Stevenson Center staff and Aggies everywhere.”

Details on Reveille IX’s funeral will be announced by the university once they are finalized.
