MORGANTOWN, W.V.a. (WV News) — To celebrate three years of providing advanced care to children in the area, WVU Medicine Children's Hospital on Monday threw an employee appreciation event in the hospital's parking lot.

Employees were given “funny money” to spend at the food trucks, which ranged from food to soda and coffee, and a photo booth with props was provided for employees to enjoy without charge.

“Today's a big day,” said Amy Bush, chief administrative officer for WVU Medicine Children's Hospital. “Today ... is really a celebration of our entire team, our medical staff, and all of our caregivers, and the patients and families who entrust us with their care.”

The hospital first opened on Sept. 29, 2022, in order to give families their own space while receiving care.
