( 25News Now ) - A Pontiac man accused of predatory sexual assault of a child is likely to be released from jail after an appeals court found he was wrongly detained before his trial.
Jessie A. Alderson, who turns 34 on Oct. 2, is charged with sexually assaulting a minor younger than 13 between 2017 and 2020. The accusations could land him in prison for up to 60 years if he’s convicted.
Three justices on the Fourth District Appellate Court reversed Livingston County Judge Jennifer Bauknecht’s decision to keep Alderson behind bars, noting he does not have a criminal record, and the crime of which he’s accused happened between five and eight years ago.
