CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Over two years after the death of his six-month-old son, the father of Liam Rye was indicted by a Chatham County Grand Jury on Sept. 24.
Landon Rye was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, family violence and cruelty to children.
Liam died on Sept. 5, 2023, after reportedly being rushed to the hospital.
The Chatham County Coroner's Office announced Sept. 20, 2023, that it deemed the death as suspicious. No further information was available as it was said that was during the early stages of investigation.
Chatham County Police Department said it was investigating the case as a homicide at that time.
It is unclear when Landon was arrested.
