PETOSKEY — City Park Grill will mark the 40th anniversary of The Juke Joint, the long-running WCMU Public Radio show hosted by Robert Barclay, with a celebration on Oct. 11.
According to a Sept 29 news release, Barclay ― known to listeners as the “Duke of Juke” — has hosted the Sunday night program since April 1985, offering a three-hour mix of acoustic and electric music from the 1920s to today.
His playlists range from traditional and contemporary blues to boogie woogie, rhythm and blues, soul, gospel and zydeco.
The event will run from 8 to 10 p.m. and invites guests to come for dinner, stay for music and meet Barclay in person. He will spin music during the celebration, giving fans the chance to hear his signature playlist live.
