The latest update on the effort to develop the workforce in North Lanarkshire has noted improved performance. ‌

The six-monthly report on the council’s Brighter Futures programme notes that more than 1500 people have received support from NL Academies, gaining work, training and being guided to key sectors in the area. ‌

One hundred candidates for supported employment successfully gained employment while thousands more received community learning and development support, with more than 1000 gaining new national qualifications. ‌

People from ethnic minorities started 17 new businesses while almost 100 existing businesses received some form of support.
