Amid the ongoing rain, tragedy struck as a 13-year-old boy lost his life after falling into an open drain at Jagdamba Mata area in Dombivali’s Davachipada area in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The incident took place around 10.30 pm on Sunday night. However, it triggered an array of protests in Kalyan district where local residents blamed the civic authorities for not covering the drains.

Despite multiple attempts, Abhinav Goel–municipal commissioner from the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) didn’t respond to the queries raised by the Indian Express .
