USC women’s basketball star JuJu Watkins will miss the upcoming 2025-26 season as she continues to recover from a knee injury she suffered in March.

Watkins tore her ACL in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 24. On Sunday, the reigning AP Player of the Year confirmed she will sit out this season as she continues to focus on recovering from her injury.

“These last few months have been filled with a lot of healing, rest, and reflection,” Watkins wrote in an Instagram story . “Recovering from this injury hasn’t been easy, and I want to say thank you – your love, support, and kind words have truly lifted me up during one of the most challenging times in my life.
