PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A man was arrested in connection with threats made against the McCracken County Courthouse.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29, it was reported to them that a man had made threats to take a gun to the courthouse and start shooting people.

They say security at the courthouse was heightened, and during the investigation, detectives found and interviewed Richie Byassee.

Detectives found evidence that Byassee had made the threats via telephone.

Richie Byassee, of Paducah, was arrested for second-degree terroristic threatening and taken to the McCracken County Jail.
