JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - The state of Missouri submitted a waiver request to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services to change the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
That’s according to a news release from Governor Mike Kehoe’s office.
The governor signed Executive Order 25-30 on the waiver request.
The Missouri Department of Social Services director sent the waiver request to the USDA on Monday, September 29, and a 30-day public comment period is now open in Missouri.
Following USDA approval and feedback, according to the governor’s office, the estimated implementation of the waiver would be October 1, 2026.
