TOWN OF OSWEGATCHIE, New York (WWNY) - A 27-year-old Heuvelton man with a history of arrests is accused of assaulting an elderly man.

State police arrested Brandon Hooper on Sunday after being called to McIlwee Road in the town of Oswegatchie.

Troopers said Hooper was involved in an argument with a 76-year-old man the week before.

According to police, Hooper grabbed the man and threw him to the ground, causing multiple bruises.

Troopers said the elderly man, described as a friend of Hooper’s mother, did not have to go to the hospital.

Hooper was charged with second-degree assault.

Hooper was arraigned in Morristown Town Court and is being held on $25,000 bail in the St. Lawrence County Jail.
