JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed regret over an airstrike carried out by Israel in Qatar’s capital, Doha. Netanyahu personally called the Emir of Qatar to apologise, admitting that the attack had violated Qatar’s sovereignty.
The strike killed six people, including an officer of Qatar’s internal security forces. Netanyahu conveyed his condolences over the deaths. The airstrike took place in Qatar’s Kathar province, even as ceasefire talks with Hamas were underway in Doha. Israel has now expressed regret, acknowledging that the attack breached the sovereignty of the Gulf nation.
