PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania Representative is aiming to make government agents and law enforcement more identifiable through a new bill.

The legislation, authored by Rep. Paul Friel and cosponsored by eight other Representatives, would require all government agents and law enforcement officers to wear identifiable uniforms or clothing that indicates their department or affiliation, as well as prohibit the use of face coverings, masks or otherwise concealing apparel that obscures identity during official operations.

Friel explains that his legislation comes after the recent practice of federal agents, including Homeland Security and U.S. Border Patrol, which allows agents to act without identification while concealing their faces while performing duties. He argued that those pra
