HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WTAJ) — Nearly three months past the initial deadline, Pa.'s lack of a state budget has Huntingdon County thinking about the future.
Chair of the Huntingdon County Commissioners Scott Walls appreciates policy debate – but not at the expense of county government.
"I appreciate people standing up for their beliefs, but county government needs to be funded," Walls said.
He does not want a repeat of the worst budget impasse in his recent memory: 2015. Walls said the county was not in "great financial stability" at the time, so the delay forced the county's government to take out loans totaling $1.4 million.
