PEACH COUNTY, Ga. — Another Central Georgia county is searching for its next superintendent.

On Monday, Peach County Schools sent out a release that Lionel Brown has decided to retire.

"We would like to share that Superintendent Dr. Lionel Brown has chosen to retire after a long and dedicated career in education," the release said. "We are grateful for his years of leadership and service to our district. His commitment to our students, staff and community has made a lasting impact, and we wish him all the best in this well-deserved next chapter."

Brown was hired by Peach County back in the summer of 2018. He had previously served as the Executive Director of Secondary Options for Houston County Schools.
